FAQs:

Q1: What do you mean by Air transpiration system?

A1: The air transport system generally includes ATC (Air Traffic Control) system, airports, and airlines. The system provides guidance to aircraft while flying through the controlled airspace between airports and during their ground movements at the airport themselves.

Q2: What do Air transportation system integrates?

A2: Air transport infrastructure integrates all the ground facilities needed to support airline services with the adequate levels of safety, reliability, and economy. The two main elements of those facilities are airports and air navigation services.

Q3: What are the elements of air transportation system?

A3: Air transportation system is defined by four basic elements: airlines, commercial transport aircraft, the air space used for their flights, and the infrastructure required to supporting their operations, like airports and ATM (Air Traffic Management) facilities.

Q4: What are the determinants of Air Transportation system?

A4:

Q5: What will I learn in Air Transportation System course?

A5: Upon completing this course, one will have the skills to:

  • Understand and explain the agendas, roles, responsibilities of airports, airlines, air navigation services and civil aviation authoriteis
  • Describe the role major world aviation organisation including ICAO
  • Explain clearly the inter dependencies and correlation between the components of air transportation systems
  • Summarize current issues impacting the air transportation system

Q6: What is IATA and its uses?

A6: The International Air Transport Association (IATA) is a less kindred association of representatives from privately and publicly owned aircraft operators. Those organisations that are members have chosen to join it, and the 230 airline members as of 2008 (of some thousand airlines worldwide) were responsible for 95% of the total passenger-kilometres performed each year.

IATA provides considerable and satisfactory data, statistically, concentrated on financial, routes and other information related to business.

As the membership is almost wholly scheduled carriers, these data tend to be derived from member company records. They are a useful source for forecasters, but IATA does withhold commercially sensitive information from the public.
