To Study the various component parts of the Universal Testing Machine (U.T.M.) & test procedures of various practical’s to be performed.
EXPERIMENT NO. – 02 : -To determine tensile test on a metal
To conduct a tensile test on a mild steel specimen and determine the following:
(i) Limit of proportionality
(ii) Elastic limit
(iii) Yield strength
(IV) Ultimate strength
(v) Young’s modulus of elasticity
(VI) Percentage elongation
(vii) Percentage reduction in area.
EXPERIMENT NO-03 : – Hardness Test of Mild Steel.
To conduct hardness test on mild steel, carbon steel, brass and aluminum specimens
EXPERIMENT No:-04 : – Torsion test on mild steel rod.
To conduct torsion test on mild steel or cast iron specimens to find out modulus of rigidity
EXPERIMENT No: – 05: – To determined impact strength of steel.
To determine the impact strength of steel by Izod impact test
EXPERIMENT No: – 06 : -To determined impact strength of steel.
To determine the impact strength of steel by (Charpy test)
EXPERIMENT NO: – 07 : -To determined young’s modulus of elasticity of material of beam simply supported at ends.
