Surely Real Madrid missed their star forward, Cristiano Ronaldo in the previous La Liga games. Previously, Cristiano Ronaldo had missed a few La Liga games after he received a red card for pushing the referee in an El Classico game. Since then, the Portuguese forward is waiting for a return to the field.
Initially, Real Madrid were doing fine without their ace striker. They defeated Barcelona 2-0 at Spanish Supercopa and won their opening game at the La Liga championship. However, the next two games, too, were against relatively weaker teams, but they still drew the games against them. That shows how much the Spanish Giants were missing Cristiano Ronaldo.
In a match against Valencia, Karim Benzema missed out on four chances against Valencia. Gareth Bale, too, missed some clear chances and we later discovered that he was playing with the painkillers. Even though Asensio scored against Valencia, he failed to score against Levante.

Zinedine Zidane, the Real Madrid manager, talked about their mistake to not replace Asensio during the transfer window. He said:
“Maybe we could do with another number 9, but it wasn’t to be in the end. Morata wanted to play more, he wanted to leave. We weren’t able to bring in another player, but I believe in [Borja] Mayoral and we also have Gareth. It’s true that he plays more on the wing, but we’ll make do.”
Ronaldo returned on Wednesday for the Champions League match. He scored two goals for Real Madrid and helped them beat APOEL by 3-0.
