Bennett University has been established to provide students, an ivy league quality education in India.

All England champion Pullela Gopichand inaugurated the newly completed sports facility at the Bennett University campus amongst students, faculty and university officials.

Bennett University’s new sports block comprises three squash, badminton and tennis courts each, a swimming pool, gymnasium, indoor games and a multi-purpose arena – along with basketball, football and volleyball playing areas. In the coming year, Bennett University will be adding facilities for kabaddi and a cricket playing and practice pitch.

Welcoming the chief guest, Bennett University Chancellor and Managing Director of the Times Group, Vineet Jain, said: “It is an honour to have an icon of Gopichand’s stature, who has single-handedly turned our nation into a badminton superpower, here to inaugurate our sports facility. There is no greater inspiration in world badminton today than Gopichand and the new Indian stars he has mentored.”

Addressing the audience, Gopichand said: “I am very happy to see this kind of sports facility. Very few people in our country will have access to such beautiful infrastructure, and I would like to congratulate the entire team behind the execution of this wonderful project.

The opening ceremony was followed by a tree planting ceremony and an enthralling badminton rally between Gopichand and some students in the newly opened sports block.

It proved a fitting closure to the inauguration of Bennett University’s sports complex and the students relished the opportunity to play with the Indian badminton legend.

Bennett University’s sprawling campus is visualized as a modern and user-centric functional space, enabling an immersive and comprehensive learning experience.
