Femina, one of India’s leading magazine in India congratulated mistakenly Irfan Pathan instead of Irfan Khan.
Irrfan Khan might’ve taken home the Best Actor trophy at the Filmfare Awards on Saturday, but it was his namesake Irfan Pathan who was grabbing attention on social media on Sunday.
Veteran actor Irrfan was declared the Best Actor for his role in the movie Hindi Medium during a glittering ceremony of the Filmfare Awards in Mumbai.
In a race to congratulate the fine actor, leading entertainment magazine Femina put out a post on their official social media account. They made one mistake, though. A rather costly one at that.
Thank u n sorry I couldn’t make it but u can send the award to me at my home ;);)
— Irfan Pathan (@IrfanPathan) January 21, 2018
Instead of tagging Irrfan, the actor, they ended up tagging Irfan, the cricketer.
As luck would have it, Pathan didn’t miss the post and went on to hilariously troll Femina for their faux pas. “Thank u n sorry I couldn’t make it but u can send the award to me at my home,” tweeted Pathan.
Pathan is also up for grabs in the IPL auctions set to take place on the 27th and 28th of January. Franchises would be tempted to pick him given his all-round abilities. Also, the fact that he is an Indian player will be an added advantage for the team.
