AHL: Queensland beat India A Men’s 4-0

The India A Men’s Hockey Team handed a humiliating 0-4 defeat by Queenslandin in Australian Hockey League (AHL).

India could not produce a good start to the game as they conceded an early penalty corner in the 5th minute. The penalty converted to lead by Matthew Pembroke.

The teams had their required time to get to the playing conditions at the venue.

“Since we arrived on Sunday, we got a good number of practice sessions here along with two practice matches that has set the momentum for the team,” stated V Baskaran, coach for the India ‘A’ men’s team.

Queensland were again quick off the blocks in the third quarter. Queenslandian scored a third goal when Joel Rintala finished off a beautiful team-move in the 42nd minute.

Matthew Pembroke (5’), Hugh Pembroke (20’), Joel Rintala (42’) and Jacob Anderson (54’) scored the goals for Queensland booked place in the Final of the 2017 AHL.
India failed to make a comeback, their efforts were kept out by a resolute Queensland defence.

The Australian side ensured the victory when they scored the fourth goal with 6 minutes remaining in the match. Jacob Anderson target for Queensland and scored a coolly-finished field goal in the 54th minute to make it 4-0.
India A Men’s Hockey Team will now face New South Wales for the 3rd place in 2017 AHL on Sunday.
