Andy Murray Draws From US Open Due To An Injury!

World’s Number two tennis player, Andy Murray withdrew from the US Open because of his hip injury. The same left hip injury left Andy Murray failed out of the Grand Slam Tournament final earlier this year. The British tennis player, Andy Murray won the Grand Slam championship three times. His first major tournament win came in the year 2012. With his hip injury, he was vague about his future in the season.

Andy Murray last played last month when he suffered a loss in the five-set Wimbledon quarter-final at the hands of Sam Querrey. However, he suffered the injury while playing against Stan Wawrinka in the French Open.

 

Andy Murray, in regard to his recent onset, said: 

“Did pretty much everything that I could to get myself ready here and took a number of weeks off after Wimbledon.”

“I spoke to a lot of hip specialists. Tried resting, rehabbing, to try and get myself ready here. Was actually practicing OK the last few days, but it’s too sore for me to win the tournament and ultimately that’s what I was here to try and do.

“Unfortunately, I won’t be playing here this year.”

Well, Murray is not the only top player to withdraw from the tournament. Other players to withdraw include Novak Djokovic, Stan Wawrinka, Milos Raonic and Kei Nishikori.
