Australia team got an increase in the security after a rock heaved at the Australian team bus. The incident took place while the Australian players were travelling in the bus after the end of first day’s play. However, one good news here is that none of the Australian players sustained any harm or injury. A window, however, had broken during this incident.
With this, Australian players are getting a head of state security. Some guards are keeping an eye on the crowd as they enter the stadium. Also, BCB blocked the roads from the hotel to the ground. To ensure the security of the Australian players, they are receiving a high-end security.
Iqbal Bahar, Chittagong Metropolitan Police Commissioner, in a statement, said:
Before the tour, Bangladesh had promised a complete security to the Aussies. As a result of that, Australia gave heads-up to the tour. In 2015, Australia had cancelled the tour to Bangladesh because of security.
Sean Carroll, Cricket Australia Security Manager, in light of the event, said:
“To date, we have been happy with the security measures that have been in place and we are comfortable with the response from the Bangladesh authorities and the increased security presence we have been provided in light of the incident.”
Bangladesh are leading this 2-match test series by 1-0. They won the first test by 20 runs.
