Daniel Christian Replaces Brendon McCullum In CPL!

Daniel Christian will replace the former New Zealand captain, Brendon McCullum in the ongoing season of Caribbean Premier League. Brendon McCullum suffered an arm injury while playing against Barbados Tridents in their last league stage match. Brendon McCullum was batting on 26 before injuring his arm on Wayne Parnell’s bowling. He retired hurt and had to go to the hospital. The X-ray report there showed that Brendon McCullum had fractured his arm.

Now, Trinbago Knight Riders have got Daniel Christian as a replacement for Brendon McCullum. Just last week, Daniel Christian led his Nottinghamshire side to their maiden Natwest T20 Blast title. He himself was the ace performer with 11 wickets in his bag along with 356 runs in the tournament.

Daniel Christian has an immense experience in the T20 leagues as he has represented many teams in the limited-over tournaments. Recently, he made an impact in the Indian Premier League after an impressive performance. He proved to be a valuable player for Rising Pune Supergiant, who reached the finals of the tournament. However, they lost to Mumbai Indians in the finals.

Concerning the arm injury of Brendon McCullum, the head coach of Trinbago Knight Riders, Simon Katich said: 

“Losing an iconic figure like Brendon to injury is clearly a massive loss to the team, but in Daniel, we have a proven match-winner who has just led a side to a T20 title in England. We hope that he can make it two trophies in two weeks with us in Trinidad.”

Trinbago Knight Riders will meet St Kitts and Nevis Patriots in Qualifier 1.
