Chennai Super Kings (CSK) are going to return to the Indian Premier League in the 11th edition, i.e., next year. CSK are the second most successful IPL team with two IPL trophies under their belt. George John, Director of CSK, said-
“We have been in talks with [Michael] Hussey. It will be great if things work out since he has played for us and possesses a great cricketing brain.“
The veteran middle order batsman played for Chennai Super Kings for seven seasons. He was also one of the biggest reason behind the Super Kings’ successful campaign in IPL. Until last year, Chennai were the most successful side with two trophies. However, Mumbai Indians’ victorious campaign this year made them the most successful team with three IPL Trophies.
In 2015, because of the betting scandal, Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super Kings faced a 2-year ban. Both the teams will return to the tournament in the 2018 season. Michael Hussey, in 2013, bagged the Orange Cap while playing for Chennai Super Kings. Because of this form of Michael Hussey, Chennai enjoyed a successful campaign in IPL as they reached the finals yet again. However, they lost to Mumbai Indians in 2013.
