England have won the series after a little setback in the second test match. With this win, they win the 3-match test series by 2-1. The test match will always be in everyone’s mind because of James Anderson’s 500 test match wickets. To top it all off, he also registered his career-best performance in test match cricket. He took seven wickets in the second innings, giving only 42 runs, thus registering his best figures.
It was a low-scoring match with neither teams able to cross the 200-run mark. In the first innings, West Indies could only manage a score of 123. Ben Stokes was the pick of the bowler as he too recorded his career best bowling figures of 6/22. Ben Stokes 6-wicket haul left James Anderson strangling at 499 test match scalps as he could manage two wickets in the first innings.
In reply, England too started off the same way as West Indies. They could only manage 194 runs, but that was enough considering the 123 of West Indies.

At one stage, England were struggling even to cross 150 runs as they were 63/5 at one stage. However, Ben Stokes’ brilliant half century and Stuart Broad’s cameo of 38 runs at the end of the innings helped them post 194 runs on the board.
All that was needed was quick wickets and #500 for James Anderson. He did not wait for long as he removed Kraigg Brathwaite in only the third over, thus reaching 500 wickets. He took seven wickets which restricted to only 177 runs.
England had to chase 107 runs, and they did it with nine wickets to spare. Ben Stokes bagged the Man of the Match for his all-round performance.
