Hardik Pandya was involved in a dropped catch earlier on Day 1 of the second Test match between India and South Africa.
But he didn’t make a mistake when Kagiso Rabada pulled the short ball from Ishant Sharma, over square leg. It was a stunner of a catch, and Pandya pulled off that one in style.
On Day 2 of the Centurion Test, India was still attacking. In the 111th over of South Africa’s first innings, Ishant was with the ball while Rabada was at the crease.
Shorter delivery on the stumps as Rabada swivelled and pulled it hard over square leg. He failed to keep the ball down as the ball arched over the square region on the onside. Giving Pandya ample time to sprint in from the deep and display his athleticism. A terrific run, an amazing dive, and the ball fell straight into his stretched out hands – all added up to be an astounding catch.

The Baroda-based cricketer has indeed proven his worth in red-ball cricket. In the first Test, he scored a spectacular 93 in the first innings. And on Day 1 of the second Test, he inflicted a brilliant run out to dismiss Hashim Amla.
Talking about the match, Ishant finished with three while Ravichandran Ashwin bagged four as India bundled out South Africa for 335. In reply, India has already lost two – KL Rahul and Cheteshwar Pujara on successive deliveries from Morne Morkel in the 10th over of India’s first innings.
