IPL 2020 Point Table Rules
As we mentioned, each team’s target is to stand on one of the four positions in the IPL point table. Therefore, it doesn’t become the priority for any of the teams to be among the top two in the IPL point table. It is because those teams get an extra opportunity to play the final.
IPL standings are decided based on the number of points a team holds. If two or more teams have the same point on the points table, they consider the Net Run Rate. Not only the IPL 2020 point table but also the general rules are listed below.
- A team gets 2 points if it wins a match
- A team gets no points it loses a match
- A team gets 1 if a match ends abruptly
The Net Run Rate, however, is essential for a team as its IPL standings depend on it. The calculation of the Net Run Rate is based on how they perform in a match or throughout the tournament.
