India all-rounder Kedar Jadhav shocked everyone with one unusual play, or the lack of it, during the first ODI against New Zealand in Mumbai on Sunday.
Team India lost the opening one-dayer against New Zealand by six wickets at Wankhede stadium on Sunday. Ross Taylor and Tom Latham put up a 200 run partnership for the 4th wicket to register the victory for the Kiwi side, making them 1-0 ahead in the three-match ODI series.
One such incident worth mentioning is Kedar Jadhav, the middle order batsman, getting a boundary off Adam Milne delivery.
A batsman scoring a boundary is more than usual but Kedar’s unorthodox shot makes it more interesting. It was the 11th over, the hosts were looking for a big partnership and captain Kohli and Jadhav were in the middle. Milne banged the ball hard to get the perfect bouncer but there was no assistance from the wicket and it came a foot short. Jadhav following his instinct tried to evade the short ball only to find it right at his chest. With a thump, the ball raced towards the boundary at the third man area.

Kedar shrugged off his chest as the umpire signalled the runs as byes. He went on to make just 12 runs with a lone boundary to his name. A delivery like that could have been fatal but lucky for him that it ended at the boundary rope doing damage to the opposite side.
