Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar wants Sports to be a Mandatory Subject in Every Schools

Member of Parliament (MP) of the Rajya Sabha, Sachin Tendulkar has started an initiative to include sports as a mandatory subject in every school.

Tendulkar is presenting every MP a booklet that contains the life story of some 20 sporting legends of India. Setting aside political boundaries.

The booklet titled “Unforgettable sporting heroes and legends of India,” contains the profiles of legends. Such as Dhyan Chand, Milkha Singh, Prakash Padukone, Ajit Wadekar, PK Banerjee, Mary Kom etc.

Further talking about the same Sachin mentioned that many of his fans, who are now young parents. If they get motivated by the stories of our old heroes and encourages their children to take up a sport, it will be the biggest gift.

Tendulkar revealed that the booklet has a two-fold intention. While the first one is to include sport in the existing Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act of 2009, it would also serve as a tribute to a generation that deserves a “respectable and stable life.”

“Many of my fans are now young parents. If they get motivated by the stories of our old heroes and ask their children to take up a sport in school, they would have given me my greatest gift. It’s like scoring a dream hundred again. As a cricketer I had always set lofty benchmarks. If parents and schools love their kids, then sport should be their second religion. I am just trying to make them aware.”

Sachin Tendulkar is urging the HRD and sports ministries to make sports a mandatory subject in schools. The cricket legend has produced a booklet of former sports heroes of India to inspire the future generation.
