Dhoni gets stumped in a T20I for 1st time after 79 matches

MS Dhoni 165 stumpings across all of the three formats for cricket is extraordinary. MS Dhoni has ascertained time and time again that he is the greatest wicket-keeper for spinners ever.

After losing the toss on a green-tinged pitch at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium, India found themselves in early trouble when the unheralded Jason Behrendorff ripped the top-order apart with a menacing spell.

Adam Zampa dented India’s hopes by dismissing the experienced MS Dhoni. In the tenth over, the right-hander was lured out of his crease by a splendid delivery from the wily leg-spinner. As he was unable to read the trajectory, the veteran batsman did not get anywhere near the ball.

The name Dhoni is synonymous with wicket-keeping brilliants. All credit to his no-see under-arm flicks and lightning quick whipping of bails from stumps. The former India skipper is best man behind the stumps. At least in modern cricket.

Wicket-keeper Tim Paine made no mistake and removed the bails before Dhoni could make his way back in the crease.

Put in to bat after a light drizzle. India rocked by the pace of Jason Behrendorff. He used the conditions well to send back the duo of Rohit Sharma (8) and skipper Virat Kohli for a duck in the very first over.

Pandey nicked a short of good length delivery back to stumper Tim Paine before Dhawan, who was running out of partners fell to a brilliant catch by David Warner at mid-off.
Towards the end, a few miscued hits from Kuldeep Yadav (16) and Jasprit Bumrah (7) helped the hosts get to the three-figure mark.
