Cristiano Ronaldo Named UEFA Men’s Player Of The Year!

There is no surprise that Real Madrid star, Cristiano Ronaldo, is the UEFA’s Player of the year. The Left-winger was in a beast form in the last year, in La Liga as well as UEFA Champion’s League. Cristiano Ronaldo beat Barcelona’s striker, Lionel Messi and Juventus’ Goalkeeper, Gianluigi Buffon to win the UEFA Player of the year. Also, with this, Cristiano Ronaldo wins the UEFA Player of the Year for the second consecutive year.

Ronaldo had a tough competition in this one as he faced off Lionel Messi and Gianluigi Buffon.

The Real Madrid forward amassed 25 goals for his team last year in the La Liga competition. Real Madrid also enjoyed a UCL-winning campaign where CR7 scored 12 goals in the 13 matches they played.

Lionel Messi and his teammate, Andres Iniesta, are the previous winners of this award. Andres Iniesta won the award over his team-mate, Lionel Messi during the 2011-12 campaign. And since the last two years, The Real Madrid forward is winning this award.

There were other award winners as well. Gianluigi Buffon failed to win the Player of the Year. However, he bagged the ‘Goalkeeper of the Season’ award. Real Madrid enjoyed the award-winning night. Sergio Ramos and Luka Modric won Defender and Midfielder of the Year. Cristiano Ronaldo also won the Forward of the Yeah, ahead of Lionel Messi and Paulo Dybala.
