Cristiano Ronaldo Passes Pele’s International Goals!

The Portugal forward, Cristiano Ronaldo, showed everyone why he is the best in the world. He was an absolute beast against the Faroe Islands with a hat trick against them. Also, with this, he overtakes the Brazilian legend in the international goal count. With the hat trick, he stands at 78 international goals he scored for Portugal.

Cristiano Ronaldo was at his best in the World Cup qualifying match against the Faroe Islands. 

Furthermore, with 78 international goals under his belt, he is now the 5th in the list of all-time leading goal-scorers. The four-time Ballon d’Or winner was only two goals behind the legendary figure. But with this hat trick against the European Minnows, he has now overtaken Pele.

There are only four players above him in the leading international goal-scorers list. Those players are Ali Daei (109), Ferenc Puskas (84), Kunishige Kamamoto (80) and Godfrey Chitalu (79). We may also see Cristiano Ronaldo at the third spot soon enough as he is only three goals away from reaching the third.

Furthermore, this hat trick has brought him another milestone. With this performance, Ronaldo has now scored 14 goals in the ongoing campaign. Thus, he now equalized the record of Predrag Mijatović of 14 goals in the World Cup Qualifiers.

Ronaldo has helped his team to the European Championship last year and he will be hopeful of helping them win a world cup.
