The destructive Pakistan batsman, Sharjeel Khan, received a five-year ban by PCB for the spot-fixing scandal. As a result of this, he will now appeal against the ban he received by the Anti-Corruption Tribunal. According to the reports, he played three dot balls deliberately in the 2017 PSL edition, earlier this year.
The Board adjudged him guilty of the charges and imposed a five-year ban on the player. However, he could play cricket after 30 months after fulfilling some essentials set by PCB.

His lawyer, Shaighan Ejaz, confirmed that he will appeal against the ban imposed on him. He said:
“Yes, we have decided that we will appeal the ban as we have our reservations over the tribunal finding Sharjeel guilty of three major charges which include doing spot-fixing and agreeing to spot-fix a match in the Pakistan Super League.”
Furthermore, he insisted on saying that PCB failed to provide enough evidence against him. He added:
“When the Board could not produce any evidence against Sharjeel confirming that he agreed to spot-fix a match in the PSL, we are not happy with the decision and we plan to appeal it when the time comes.”
“There is no question of any financial transaction taking place between my client and this bookmaker and nothing of this sort was shown before the tribunal. There is no evidence to suggest Sharjeel did spot-fixing at any time.”
Tafazzul Rizvi, PCB’s legal advisor, however, said that PCB have their reservations to not ban the player, against the Tribunal’s decision. He said:
“We have reservations that despite being charged on all counts, the tribunal did not impose any fine on Sharjeel. We also have issues with two years and six months of his five- year ban being a suspended sentence.”
