Yuvraj Singh Approaches BCCI For 3 Crore Compensation

For the last 18 months, Yuvraj had been chasing the BCCI officials to get his dues, around Rs 3 crore.

So much so, that his mother Shabnam has also been contacting the BCCI officials to release the amount.

In Yuvraj’s case, he missed seven league games for Sunrisers Hyderabad, after which he approached the BCCI to compensate him. The board sources said Yuvraj is planning to approach the Supreme Court to oversee the appointed Committee of Administrators.

The 35-year-old all-rounder injured just ahead of the semi-final of T20 World Cup 2016 against Windies. He has reportedly written a letter to BCCI to compensate him for the loss. He suffered after missed few IPL games due to that injury.

As per BCCI ruling, the board compensate the players for the amount which they lose by being absent from any game, due to an injury which they suffer while on national duty. The most prominent example is that of Mohammad Sahmi. He was paid an amount of Rs 2.2 Crore after he missed IPL 2015 due to an injury which he suffered during World Cup 2015.

“Yuvraj has written several letters to the BCCI officials and even his mother has been making the calls on his behalf. Sunrisers teammate Ashish Nehra missed five games. He has received his dues from the BCCI but surprisingly, Yuvraj’s case is in the limbo,” a BCCI official told Mumbai Mirror.

Yuvraj, who is preparing for a fitness test at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru, did not respond to messages and understandably so. BCCI official said that the Yuvraj issue could be that of miscommunication.
