Shubh Mangal Saavdhan is a remake of the Tamilian film “Kalyana Samayal Saadham”. The story of the movie revolves around Mudit Sharma (Ayushmann Khurrana) and Sugandha (Bhumi Pednekar). The two fall in love and plan to get married. But the twist in the story comes when the groom finds out that he suffers from erectile dysfunction.
The character of both Mudit and Sugandha are played ordinarily by the cast. This adds a touch of reality to the characters. The couple is seen sipping “thele ki chai”, supping on street-chaat and picnicking Delhi gardens. The best part of the movie is no one is calling for attention, everyone is real.
The chemistry between the two stars is already seen on the big screen before thus making the audience comfortable in watching these two come back together again. The humor is playful with elements of soft porn poetry, mischievous symbolism, hilariously camouflaged quips. This is definitely one of the best films that Bollywood has given us in 2017. a year that has been sluggish so far. Shubh Mangal Saavdhan does not fall, it flies.
