One of the biggest Chinese handset maker Oppo on the last Thursday unveiled its latest selfie-focused smartphone, which is known as the Oppo F5, which is also the major successor to the Oppo F3. The new Oppo smartphone, is simply much like previous handsets, that mainly focuses on selfies and comes with artificial intelligence (AI) beauty technology which is integrated in the front camera for taking selfies and to do video calling. It is set to launch in India on 2nd of November.

The 4GB RAM and 32GB inbuilt onboard storage Oppo F5 has been priced at PHP 15,990 which is roughly Rs. 20,000 and comes in two color options of Gold and Black.

One of the biggest highlights of the smartphone is the AI-enabled beauty technology that comes integrated in the front camera. The front camera is claimed to recognize if there’s a background light or can add luminance to portraits for more improved selfies. The front camera is also capable of clicking shots with an effect of Bookeh.
Oppo F5 sports a 20-megapixel sensor at the front which comes with an aperture of f/2.0. At the back is a 16-megapixel primary rear camera with f/1.8 aperture and LED flash. The Oppo F5 features a 6-inch TFT display with full-High Definition+ screen resolution of 1080×2160 pixels. The handset supports dual Nano-SIM cards and comes with a microSD card slot. The Oppo F5 is powered and supported by an octa-core MediaTek (MT6763T) processor which is coupled with 4GB/ 6GB RAM. It supports expandable storage via microSD card of up to 256GB. The handset runs on the company’s Color operating system 3.2 which is based on Android version 7.1 Nougat. It measures 156.5x76x7.5mm and weighs around 152 grams. It is backed by a battery capacity of 3200mAh which is a non removable one. Some of the connectivity options include GPS/ A-GPS, GPRS/ EDGE, 3G, 4G with VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n and USB OTG support.
