Bajaj’s New Avenger 180 Is Coming to Take On The Suzuki Intruder 150

In February 2018, Bajaj will discontinue the Avenger 150 which will be replaced by a more powerful Bajaj’s Avenger 180 to take on the recently launched Suzuki Intruder 150.

The upcoming Bajaj Avenger 180 will sport a new design and more features as compared to the currently sold Avenger 150. The new Avenger will borrow its engine from the Pulsar 180 and is expected to come with all the bells and whistles to rival the Intruder 150.Powering the Avenger 180 is the 178.2cc single cylinder, air/oil-cooled engine producing 17bhp and 14Nm of torque. The power figures are higher than that of the Avenger 150 which produces 14.3bhp and 12.5Nm of torque. The engine will be coupled to a 5-speed gearbox.

Apart from that, the other mechanical components are expected to remain unchanged. The new Avenger 180 could feature disc brakes at both the ends and Bajaj might also offer single-channel ABS as an option. The new Avenger will also come with modern features such as digital instrument cluster and LED lights.

The Avenger 180 is said to be priced lower than the Intruder 150 which will give it an upper hand as compared to its Japanese rival. Currently, the Avenger 150 retails for Rs 81,459 ex-showroom (Delhi). The Avenger 180 is expected to be dearer by Rs 5,000 than the 150cc cruiser.
