Safari users that wish to disable JavaScript in their browser, whether for security or development purposes or for something else altogether, can do so in just a few easy steps. This tutorial shows you how it’s done.

First, open your Safari browser. Click on Safari in your browser menu, located at the top of your screen.

Safari’s Preferences dialog should now be displayed, overlaying your browser window. Click on the tab labeled Security. Safari’s Security Preferences should now be visible. In the second section from the top, labeled Web content is an option titled Enable JavaScript. By default, this option is checked and therefore active. To disable JavaScript, simply uncheck the appropriate box.

Many websites may not function as expected while JavaScript is disabled. To re-enable it at a later time, repeat the steps above.
